In circumstances where governments are unable or unwilling to fulfill their mandates, civil society organizations play an important role in service delivery as well as act as the voice on behalf of the people. These organizations have deep knowledge of the local context and can serve as facilitators for civic participation and service provision, particularly when government systems are disrupted.
However, local CSOs often face challenges in capacity and skills. To address such challenges, organizational development activities help build capacity, establish networks and coalitions, link partners to share knowledge and experience, and promote collaboration.
With its expertise in policy and advocacy, research, and consulting, Nexus Action promotes knowledge sharing and capacity building for CSOs, activists and grassroots organizations in a broad range of organizational areas. This includes communications and engagement, facilitation and coalition-building, negotiation and mediation skills, conflict resolution and transformation with the aim of enabling CSOs and grassroots community organizations to maximize their impact on the ground.
